Why there are more countries?
The 2012 Prosperity Index includes 32 new countries, increasing the total global coverage from 110 countries to 142. This is the result of increased data availability from many of our data sources.

This year the Prosperity Index includes 32 new countries. We have been able to add new countries as a result of new data becoming available. The new countries are spread around the world.
