Official Site - The Legatum Prosperity Index is the world's only global assessment of wealth and wellbeing; unlike other studies that rank countries by actual levels of wealth, life satisfaction or development, the Prosperity Index produces rankings based upon the very foundations of prosperity – those factors that help drive economic growth and produce happy citizens over the long term.

Crowe, Bogota, Colombia said on the 2nd February 2012:
I am South African - have lived in Botswana - and have been in Colombia for the last 5 years! My family and I feel safer here in Colombia on a daily basis than we ever did in South Africa - or Botswana
Bob, USA said on the 6th January 2012:
Rankings of some of these countries is a little unfair since a country such as Norway has a population of just over 4.5 million and is ranked so highly yet it is compared to countries with hundreds of millions of people with cities that have more people than the entire nation of Norway. Larger populations with high immigration have many more opportunities but also much larger problems to deal with.
Shahbaz Latif, Bangkok Thailand responded on the 17th January 2012:
I agree with brother Bob, When countries with small population and area you have small problems to tackle with like "Singapore".... i think they must consider the facts and figures in justifying their ranking
Alex, Minneapolis responded on the 29th January 2012:
