In the overall Prosperity Index rankings, Belize has climbed by 1 position from 80 to 79 when compared to last year. Since the Prosperity Index began in 2006, Belize has moved down the rankings table by 16 places.
In the Prosperity Pillar rankings, Belize performs best on Natural Environment and Personal Freedom and scores lowest on the Business Environment pillar. The biggest positive change, compared to last year, came in Economic Quality increasing by 14 places, whereas they dropped 8 places on Personal Freedom.
