In the overall Prosperity Index rankings, Nicaragua has fallen by 14 positions from 69 to 83 when compared to last year. Since the Prosperity Index began in 2006, Nicaragua has moved down the rankings table by 19 places.
In the Prosperity Pillar rankings, Nicaragua performs best on Natural Environment and Personal Freedom and scores lowest on the Education pillar. The biggest positive change, compared to last year, came in Safety & Security increasing by 5 places, whereas they dropped 22 places on Social Capital.
