In the overall Prosperity Index rankings, Belize has climbed by 1 position from 73 to 72 when compared to last year. Since the Prosperity Index began in 2006, Belize has moved down the rankings table by 12 places.
In the Prosperity Pillar rankings, Belize performs best on Natural Environment and Personal Freedom and scores lowest on the Business Environment pillar. The biggest positive change, compared to last year, came in Social Capital increasing by 11 places, whereas they dropped 4 places on Economic Quality.
