El Salvador is 92nd in the overall Prosperity Index rankings. Since the Prosperity Index began in 2007, El Salvador has moved down the rankings table by 16 places.
In the Prosperity Pillar rankings, El Salvador performs best on Health and Personal Freedom and scores lowest on the Safety & Security pillar. The biggest positive change, compared to last year, came in Safety & Security increasing by 13 places, whereas they dropped 10 places on Business Environment.
