On 29th July 2025, the Prosperity Institute hosted around sixty guests for the launch of the second edition of Yoram Hazony’s book, The Virtue of Nationalism. Dr Radomir Tylecote gave a brief introduction before inviting Hazony to speak. The author outlined the reasons behind revisiting the book and the key changes in the context of the National Conservative movement that warranted this.
Yoram Hazony, known also in his capacity as the founder and president of the Edmund Burke Foundation, has played a notable role in debates about national identity and the conservative tradition. During his talk, he reflected on the background to his work and the thinking that led him to update his argument in light of Trump’s victory in November 2024.
The evening continued with a panel discussion featuring Hazony, Rev Giles Fraser (Vicar of St Anne’s Kew, and regular columnist for UnHerd), and Dr James Orr, a Cambridge academic and newly announced member of Prosperity Institute’s Advisory Board. The conversation included various perspectives on nationalism and its relevance today, followed by thoughtful questions from the audience.
